APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN

Why not consider a varied, rewarding and pensionable career as an electrician ?

On completion of a four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified electrician, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical and allows you to go on for an electrical engineering degree.

You may then choose to either work as an electrician with a range of employers or work in a self-employed capacity.

The role of an electrician can be a very varied and exciting one. It offers plenty of opportunities for you to work in both domestic and industrial spaces.

As well as being a fast-paced and important job, average salaries are also pretty impressive across the industry.

In 2022, the average wage of a fully qualified electrician in Ireland was around €48,000, with the possibility to be even higher in more technical positions.

Even an apprentice can earn a decent average wage of around €30,000 a year, depending on several factors, including where you live and work.

Many apprentices use their apprenticeship qualification as a platform to launch careers such as engineers, managers, business owners, teachers and instructors amongst others.

Taking all of this into account, it’s easy to see why you might be attracted to the electrical industry and why you might be considering steering your career in this direction.
